WORLD SERIES OF POKER WALL STREET CHAMPIONSHIP


Atlantic City, NJ – Make your mark in the World Series of Poker history in an event unlike any other in the poker world! Showboat Atlantic City presents the 1st Annual World Series of Poker Wall Street Championship from Friday, January 26 through Sunday, January 28, 2007.

Exclusively for Financial Sector employees in the greater New York City area, this Official WSOP Satellite Event gives Wall Street’s finest the opportunity to battle it out against one another for the right to be crowned the Poker King or Queen of Wall Street. The 500 participants that are expected to attend will create a prize pool of over $500,000 with the Grand Prize Winner taking home almost $140,000. The winner will also secure a guaranteed seat at the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas, NV or a $10,000 cash prize. Finally, in perhaps the most hotly contested race, the financial organization with the most team points at the end of the event will be crowned the Poker Champions of Wall Street with special prizes for the entire team and bragging rights throughout the city.

The Tournament buy in and entry fee of $1,125 gives every player the shot to realize instant poker fame, but it also gives every player the chance to give back to New York City. Harrah’s Entertainment will donate at least $25,000 to the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation as well as a portion of each player’s entry fee to help build a lasting reminder of those tragic events of September 11th.

Of course, Texas Hold’em action is not the only form of entertainment available during this first ever Championship Event. On Friday, January 26th the tournament kicks off with the “Riding the Bull” party held at Club Worship at the House of Blues. This one of a kind kick off party will feature DJ Cinful, whose national appearances have included the Foundation Room in Las Vegas and the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, as she spins all night at Worship. A mechanical bull, body painting, cage dancers and a special appearance by at least five Playboy Playmates will all complement the deep, hypnotic house styles that DJ Cinful has rapidly become famous for providing. Additionally participants are invited to catch an exclusive performance by stand up comedian and host of the CBS Late, Late Show, Craig Ferguson. Ferguson will bring his razor sharp wit to the House of Blues Music Hall.
