Are you using 4K for trading?

  1. Yes! More flexibility with trading layouts is great!

Does anyone have experience trading on a 4K display? I think they have the potential to make a sweet trading setup.

For those who don't know, they are super high resolution displays that are essentially the equivalent of having 4x 1080p screens in a 2x2 setup.

You can get this for around $500. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DOPGO2G/

While it might not be the best for gaming or color accuracy, for trading it seems perfect.

  2. You need the ATI video card too.

    I don't think that's true...

I use two 2560x1600 screens which give a desktop resolution of 5120x1600. That is 8,192,000 pixels (vs 8,294,400 for the Seiki Digital SE39UY04 linked above), so not much of an improvement for me.

However, I couldn't replace even one of my current monitors for $600. So this may be a more cost effective option for someone who legitimately needs such display real estate but hasn't bought any screens yet.

Thanks for the input. I'm kind of liking the idea of 30x3 over 4K. Hmmm...

I use it, but getting it to work right was a hassle and it still doesn't exactly refresh properly. If I had to do it over again, I'd wait till it's more mature and use dual 2560x1600's in the mean time.
