vp "Certain dates echo throughout history," Harris said. "Including dates that instantly remind all who have lived them where they were and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault. Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendar but a place in our collective memory. Dec. 7, 1941, Sept. 11, 2001, and Jan. 6, 2021."
1971 March 01 Bomb explodes in Capitol building https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/bomb-explodes-in-capitol-building A bomb explodes in the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., causing an estimated $300,000 in damage but hurting no one. A group calling itself the Weather Underground claimed credit for the bombing, which was done in protest of the ongoing U.S.-supported Laos invasion. The so-called Weathermen were a radical faction of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS); the Weathermen advocated violent means to transform American society. The philosophical foundations of the Weathermen were Marxist in nature; they believed that militant struggle was the key to striking out against the state to build a revolutionary consciousness among the young, particularly the white working class. Their primary tools to achieving these ends were arson and bombing. Among the other targets of Weathermen bombings were the Long Island Court House, the New York Police Department headquarters, the Pentagon, and the State Department.
No one has been charged with insurrection. This was a riot and was neither sanctioned, nor incited, by Donald Trump. Democrats think they can ride this to win the 2022 mid terms. --Wrongo--- Republicans will have a 70 to 80 seat majority in The House in 2023 and a 5 seat majority in The Senate. --Keep it up Idiot Dems.
Apparently, you did not hear Biden today. He not only said it was an insurrection, he said it was an ARMED insurrection. Armed, like how? Pepper spray or a fire extinquisher. Ok? When was the last time serious insurrectionists tried to overthrow a government with a can of spray paint? Meanwhile, a panicky, untrained capitol officer executed an unarmed protester/rioter right there. An event that got out of control because the capitol police had no plan and Pelosi and the DC mayor refused national guard requests.
