Let me just say I've been reading posts here at Elite Trader for months and have learned much from all of you here. I appreciate all of your posts.
I'm a relative newbie to the stock market and am just playing around with a little expendable cash while I try to learn more about how the markets work.

With that said, I would like to know about these bell ringing ceremonies that open the exchanges.

A stock that I own(I will not name it because that's not why I'm posting) recently left the OTC BB and is now on the AMEX. I understand that the CEO and top brass are going to ring the opening bell on Tuesday morning.
Is this done with all companies that are new to an exchange, are they invited by the exchange, or does the company itself pay to be able to do this.

Just curious about the selection process.

    Thanks.
