"This study echoes two others highlighted on Science.org in 2019, which hypothesized that at least 60% of all wild coffee species are threatened with extinction, potentially within the next decade,"

"Coffee proved to be most vulnerable to climate change with negative impacts dominating all growing regions, primarily due to increasing temperatures."

" in August, Bloomberg reported that Arabica farmers in Brazil, which represents the world's top exporter, are yet again seeing massive losses in its coffee crop, which "already had setbacks due to freakish weather, bringing lower yields that threaten to extend a global supply crunch."

We will short coffee futures at the appropriate time.

  4. Some efforts are being made to grow coffee a little further north to escape the rising temperatures.

Also growing coffee requires a lot less water than fruit trees and much, much less water than growing almonds. Almonds are a real pisser when it comes to water requirements. I mean it is drop dead ridiculous. Over a gallon per almond. Water that places like California no longer have and California is the leading grower of almonds.

This article gets into a bit....

So eventually it would come to pass. :)

Hey we are running out of eggs, so it is not that hard to imagine a popular everyday necessity will have less supply and more demand.

Since people drink coffee for the caffeine, and not for the taste, maybe it is time to invest in companies that make tea with caffeine? Their sales should explode when there's no more java beans and everyone is looking for that fix.

I think the whole process of drinking coffee is addictive, it is not just the caffeine. After all, we could take pills, no need to drink anything. People don't like to give up addictions.
