I was shocked when I got an estimate from a top rated local plumber: $425 to install a single bathroom faucet. wtf. $700+ to replace a sink and faucet, labor only. So I said fk no, I'll do it myself. So I watched youtube videos. Working out great so far, replaced 2 of 5 so far, no leaks Lessons learned: - don't fk with small corroded taps undersink, shut off main water instead. - if you do fk with small taps, use WD40 - always use Teflon plumbers tape to wrap threads - universal snappy kits are great for replacement j pipes etc Replacing sinks and faucets is a great way to improve the look of your bathroom. Next up, kitchen sink. Check out new faucets on Amazon, they're amazingly modern and cool looking, vs old fashioned ones.
Why is there a large extra part in the baggy in the after photo? One should never have extra parts after a job. What have you missed?!? OMG DO NOT TURN ON THE FAUCET!
It’s good idea, most of the value is in finishes. The value for the plumber is in his insurance and yours for peace of mind. A failed joint/fitting costs multiples more in water damage than the cost of a plumber Interesting choice of faucet, did you or your wifey pick it?
Tru re water.... faucet bc it reminds me of fancy Vegas hotel suites I want to return to https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08J7X59M6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image
It’s a cool faucet but that style goes with more a rectangular sink setup rather than a seventies oval.
