  1. does anyone know where i can find a chart of any of these pairs: EUR-USD, AUD-USD, NZD-USD, stretching more than 20 years back?

    i am aware of these sources:

    http://quote.fxtrek.com/misc/fxcm.asp --> up to 10 years
    http://www.dailyfx.com/FinanceChart.html --> up to 20 years

    i also found this:

    http://www.fxstreet.com/nou/kshitij/senseframescharts.asp?pv_divisa=EURUSD&pv_tipochart=monthly

    although this one's accuracy of data seems quite in question.

    any good sources you know of stretching more than 20 years back? monthly JPG charts will be good enough, as long as they are accurate.

    thanks

  2. 50 cent, I can only help you with EUR/USD at the moment. Looks like dailyfx.com has cut down on the max look-back period. It used to be 350 months, or 29 years and 2 months. Earlier this year, I saved some long-term charts from there. Here's a EUR/USD monthly candle chart from Jan. 1976 through mid-Feb. 2005:

    Of course, the Euro did not exist until Jan. 1, 1999. What we're looking at prior to that is the ECU, since 1979. Prior to that again, the chart is probably based on data derived from a basket weighted similarly to the future ECU, which might explain those funky dots in the beginning.

    Also, the currencies have only floated since March of 1973, under the new Bretton Woods regime, so we're missing just the first 3 years or so. Good luck with aussie and kiwi.

  3. thanks for that! let's see if other links come up..
