Results By discharge or Day 90, 78.2% of the cohort expired. The most common pre-existing conditions were hypertension, (63.5%), diabetes (59.2%) and obesity (50.4%). Age correlated with death. Comorbidities and clinical status on presentation were not predictive of outcome. Admission markers of inflammation were universally elevated (>96%). The cohort’s weight range was nearly 7-fold. Causal modeling establishes that weight-adjusted HCQ and AZM therapy improves survival by over 100%. QTc prolongation did not correlate with cumulative HCQ dose or HCQ serum levels.

Lets not forget there have also been studies showing that if you administer this combo in the first 5 days you also see improved results.

So a study of a mere 255 COVID-19 patients where 78.2% of the cohort expired somehow came to the conclusion that HCQ and AZM were somehow effective.

The entire mainstream medical community is laughing at the the preposterous claims in this paper.

Mainstream is a word that is similar to a logical fallacy... an appeal to authority...
Absent science and data... I am not sure it matters...
I can just as easily show the opposite...

Thousands of Doctors: Yes, Hydroxychloroquine Works Against Wuhan Coronavirus by Katie Pavlich (townhall.com)

    2. Fact:
There have been many studies showing the efficacy... and many studies which showed no efficacy.

Efficacy of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of COVID-19 - PubMed (nih.gov)

Results: For this study, we identified a total of 09 published articles: 03 clinical trials with sample size 150; 03 in vitro studies and 03 expert consensus reports. These studies were all suggestive that chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine can successfully treat COVID-19 infections. We found that COVID-19 infections are highly pandemic in countries where malaria is least pandemic and are least pandemic in nations where malaria is highly pandemic.

Conclusions: Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine have antiviral characteristics in vitro. The findings support the hypothesis that these drugs have efficacy in the treatment of COVID-19. People are currently using these drugs for malaria. It is reasonable, given the hypothetical benefit of these two drugs, that they are now being tested in clinical trials to assess their effectiveness to combat this global health crisis.

    Opinion:
My take is that if there is efficacy it may depend on the timing and the dosage...

For over a year if you took the opposite side of GWB on a controversial issue which could be supported with facts or data....

You had a 95 percent chance of being correct, without even knowing the facts. He was just going to argue for the narrative. And, it turns out the narrative was created by a congenital liar and our media / Pravda... Fauci.

LOL. You better load up on your HCQ as a preventative and take it every day.

I think you're a bit low on that percentage rate.

I’m pretty sure that’s why Africa’s China virus death rate is so low too

They eat HCQ like it’s candy in that disgusting failed country

Seeing that hoarding of Hydroxychloroquine across the globe left Africa with almost no doses in 2020 -- even to fight malaria; this can only mean the death rate in Africa was "reduced" (which it was not) because HCQ was not taken.

The COVID death toll in Africa is actually quite high.... but many African countries don't even report statistics.
