Problems with Multicharts installation in IB TWS

  1. Hi,

    I was trying to install Multicharts from my Interactive Brokers TWS. At one point the installation throw an error and can't progress.
    I attached the error message. Can you please suggest how I can fix this?

    Several solutions: From simplest to more complex.

    1) disable antivirus
    2) reboot and disable antivirus.
    3)run ms's dotnet or msi cleanup tool and reboot. install multicharts.
    4)google further on the error message and mention the key disrupting component ie "cannot install" "microsoft vc90". This is what tech support does when you call in an arcane error message. This is where you should start for any install issue instead of a trading forum.
    5) You need to re-install windows.

    That is Level 1 tech support in a nutshell.

    Possible: The two errors have a similarity between a memory address "0x80071A91" but not probable. I think that is random. but I am not a program debugger.

    I would more likely look at solutions that identify "MS VC90" as an issue during installation. There's even clues that there is a version "9.0" conflict. You typically want to point the fault at a Microsoft component. An very effective heuristic for troubleshooting.
