qlai, Great post. I do not want to sound mean or like an asshole. But the video is sort of like a no brainier to me. People trade to make money and have fun. Period. All that other stuff is bullshit. People have bills to pay and want to make a bunch of money in a short period of time. You do not need no purpose. Trading skills only and confidence and making money. Every one chews around the chicken bone, but never get to the bone. It's not that complicated. Trading is about making money and developing skills to trade.
The post is about psychology of trading. Why do you say “trying?” He is posting his monthly results. Are you saying Lucci is not a trader? If so, what is the definition of a trader?
He is a marketer, and that’s what your post is about - showing his marketing skills and making himself an authority on whatever. He can trade too, therefore I wrote that he’s better than Oliver Velez. Though they both do best at promoting themselves. A real trader wouldn’t have time to do half the stuff Sang Lucci is doing. While he made most money when all traders made most money, he will just talk about it 10x more to make you think what a big shot he is, which it seems you fell for so he did a good job. My opinion of him would be quite similar to this one: https://smallcapmomo.com/sang-lucci/
There’s no successful business that doesn’t benefit from self promotion. He doesn’t even claim to be a great trader. People seem unable/unwilling to separate the message from the messenger. I don’t care if he got his money by being the luckiest sob on the street. He is going through same psychological issues as many others. The point is that the “why” that we tell ourselves is not the real “why” and that can have significant consequences both inside and outside of trading. I’m not here to psycho-analyze anyone, but in my opinion very few people here are trading to simply pay their bills. Most non-pros trading to either escape something or prove something. Fun? It’s a f@#g long and painful road till that happens, as I’m sure you are well aware.
