This is not fake news. This is ONE SIDED NEWS ! Later there might be news saying trade deal with China is ' very far '. News reporters must do a much better job and present views from various sides.
This is a baby step. Does not really matter that much because whether China signs it or not on very minor issues, the harder issues will be in the 2nd phase. US wins by default if China continues to play its silly games. Watch for 50% tariffs on ALL Chinese goods. Probably, there is a 95% chance of that happening versus the Chinese signing that Phase 1 deal. A deal cannot be signed when the other side (China) does not want to sign it. I would rather tariffs be raised to 50% then, China's economy gets destroyed permanently. US can decouple from China and buy its goods from other Asian countries. Very easy to do. If the Chinese do not want a 50/50 fair trade deal, they can have a 100% US win. Take it or leave it!
April 2019, meet November 2019 ____________________________ Donald Trump claims Chinese trade deal is 'very close' Published Apr. 4, 2019 https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ims-chinese-trade-deal-very-close/3366525002/
Why have a trade deal when you can just Tweet something about it "being very close" or "incredible progress is being made" once or twice a week that results in a perpetual and unending market rise? CNBC: Larry, we know you spoke with Beijing, what are the Chinese saying?" Kudlow: "They've agreed to meet at Mar-a-Lago in January. S&P: So where would we be if Trump hadn't started all this 2 years ago...? At least 30K on the Dow right? Maybe more? What's the endgame here? The trade war ends and we climb another 20% on air? ... We're goin' down. A blind man can see it coming. Its a joke.
"But what you're missing here VZ is that once the deal is settled, companies will have renewed confidence in the future and massive capital expenditures will start up again." Uh-huh, yeah that'll happen. Especially in what's going to be the most contentious election year of all time... with each of the 20 plus Dem candidates crowing about jacking the corporate tax rate north of where it was when Trump took over in the first place. To the moon! Buy buy buy!
