The future of having an MBA degree

  1. The exporting jobs thread is excellent. But because its gotten so large, this thread can branch off and focus just on the future of having an MBA.

What global trends are affecting US MBA's the most? I know a few people that are going to Marshall and Anderson and I can't help but wonder how much that piece of paper will be worth in 10 or 15 years. Besides the networking opportunities (which are extraordinarily valuable), are the skills a real lasting competitive advantage in todays world?

  2. I already regret the $100k or so I spent on it. And that doesn't include the many thousands I've lost since from fruitlessly trying to apply what I learned in B-school to trading. Plus, the chicks were highly disappointing.
