  1. please tell me your genius assessment of how trump will cut oil prices when....they are set by a middle east cartel we are not a part of....

  2. I am blaming him to the degree he deserves it. I wrote he was in charge, and went along far too long. He handled it poorly by buying the bullshit.

  3. And what, exactly, was the bullshit to which you refer?

  4. Mandatory shutdowns, the whole we're all gonna die narrative, the level of hysteria that the media spewed day and night, the governors and mayors ruling by decree, the big decisions which impacted the entire nation being made without any real debate or discussion.

  5. Trump knows more about oil than OPEC.

  6. Fuck debate and discussion when people were dying by the thousands every day with bodies piling up faster than they could be dealt with. You want political hacks with pet narratives to gum up the work of well-meaning abd better informed scientists and medical professionals?

When you're dealing with a systemic risk like a pandemic, there is reason to employ the Precautionary Principle, and err on the side of caution. Because erring on the other side is unthinkable.

Think about that in the context of what happened across the world. You think every western nation with its own expert advisory systems went off the deep end because of the DNC while Trump was in power?

At the hospice we had a flood of interest from gereatric nurses during the pandemic, working in a place where everybody dies was preferable to the 'bad flu season".

You didn't see it with your own peepers and you now trivialize it. Perhaps that's payback for disparaging Vietnam as a bad war.

In hindsight some responses were wrong or excessive. In hindsight.

  9. Yeah, but the Cap'n wants to play it close to the line in the face of uncertainty and potentially catastrophic consequences from which there may have been no stepping back.

    "Bet it all on red!"
