You can forget ChatGPT now, ChatSonic will solve all your coding problems in minutes
The main similarity between ChatGPT and ChatSonic is that both employs AI to carry out their duties. ChatSonic uses rule-based algorithms integrated with machine learning, whereas ChatGPT uses a machine learning-based approach to language processing. This sets ChatSonic apart from the others in terms of comprehension and response, providing it with a flexible advantage. Simply expressed, Chat Sonic’s rule-based approach, in contrast to ChatGPT, enables it to handle more data with user input based on pre-defined rules and patterns. The two of them are both utilized to fix coding issues, but you can now forget about ChatGPT because ChatSonic will solve all your coding problemsin minutes.

    ChatGPT:
An AI-powered chatbot called ChatGPT has been made available for public testing by Open AI, a research company that specializes in artificial intelligence. According to the business, researchers have taught the ChatGPT to speak to users in a “conversational fashion,” opening it up to a larger range of users. ChatGPT can also assist in quickly writing programs for websites and applications. Many users on Twitter shared their experiences with ChatGPT after testing the AI-powered system and claimed that the chatbot was able to quickly resolve complicated coding-related problems.

“A transformer-based model is trained to utilize a huge corpus of conversational data in ChatGPT. Using this model, responses to user input are then generated that resemble human responses, enabling genuine interactions with a virtual assistant.”

“A natural language processing (NLP) model called ChatGPT was created by OpenAI. The model is transformer-based and was developed using a sizable corpus of conversational data. It is made to respond to user input with human-like responses, enabling conversational interactions with a virtual assistant “.

According to OpenAI, the ChatGPT chatbot can explain complicated subjects in layman’s terms. Examples given on the website include “Explain quantum computing in simple terms” and “Do you have any original birthday party ideas for a 10-year-old?” Beyond normal inquiries, the ChatGPT can assist users in resolving coding-related issues. Numerous tweets from users testing ChatGPT’s features can be found if you simply search for them on Twitter.

    ChatSonic:
Built on the GPT-3.5 architecture, ChatSonic advertises itself as an enhanced iteration of open-source models and algorithms. For companies wishing to enhance their customer support operations, ChatSonic is the best option because it has received training on customer service data. Additionally, handling client inquiries, helping with transactions, and facilitating website navigation are all made simpler by ChatSonic. Live chat, email, and social media are just a few of the platforms that it is designed to interface with.

By using Google’s knowledge network to deliver the most recent information on events and topics that are currently taking place, ChatSonic may serve as your go-to conversational AI chatbot tool. This conversational AI platform, ChatSonic, uses NLP and machine learning to deliver

    ChatGPT vs ChatSonic:
ChatGPT can produce language that resembles that of a human being based on training data, but it may not always provide responses that are entirely natural or comprehensible. This is because the GPT model’s architecture places less emphasis on comprehending the complete meaning and intent of the text and more on predicting the next word in a sequence based on the context of the preceding words.

Contrarily, ChatSonic is designed to recognize user input and react to it more consistently and naturally. Using a combination of rule-based algorithms and machine learning, it comprehends the meaning and intent behind user input and can provide responses that sound more human and natural.

Conclusion: Both ChatGPT and ChatSonic have benefits and drawbacks in terms of effectiveness and precision. ChatGPT can produce text that looks like it was written by a human rapidly and effectively, but the results are not always reliable or intelligible. ChatSonic can comprehend user input more naturally and coherently, although it can need more training and modification to fulfil certain needs.

OpenAI is owned by Microsoft now and will be heavily monetised soon. I'd be wary of using anything Microsoft touches.

Ouch, you opened Pandora's box;-) Out of curiosity, are you suggesting Google, Apple, Facebook... Are not heavily monetizing their R&D? Microsoft runs an incredibly tight ship these days and do all the right things while FB stumbled and Google is still way too heavily reliant on ad spending. Apple reached its late stage with very little innovation in the pipeline. Leaves Microsoft which keeps on pacing along at lightsspeed which is definitely reflected in their share price. With Nad at the helm things really turned around for the old grumpy behemoth.

I'm comparing it to open-source which Microsoft often pretends to be with many of its newer products. And Google, Facebook have quite a few ML tools that are true open-source through and through. MS couldn't monetise GitHub aggressively because if they did so, Gitlab would simply take market share. Visual Studio Code is mostly free still but there's already signs with Copilot what the future will be like.

Doesn't sound too convincing. Their About page explicitly says they are built on top of ChatGPT. It takes A LOT of resources to develop something like ChatGPT; merely re-using it with a bunch of cosmetics on top isn't going to give them a real edge.

You can create articles based on a topic and some more questions. With that article you can create a substack/medium or submit to newpapers or a newsletter or a forum. Most reading material on the internet is at the level of these ai tools

Here's one I created on investing during inflationary times (has an older title though).

Yeah, but most of the reading material on the internet is trash. Everyone is busy producing "content" these days.

I have some experience both in software engineering and in written communications. I found that what OpenAI created is a breakthrough in software. In software, we need to write trash for a living, all those small routine tasks that everyone already solved thousand times but you still need to solve all over again for your project.

But, for written communication, OpenAI is still not there. Grammar, even some facts - that it gets right most of the time. But, the text is intended to move real people. And the task of moving a real person is so much harder than the task of generating a bunch of instructions for a machine.

Sure, it will level-up with time. Even today, when it comes to written communications, ChatGPT is not entirely useless. E.g. I discovered this very forum by talking to ChatGPT. The question is until which point it will be able to level-up.

One way or another, that ChatSonic thingy comes across like a tiny startup from someone's garage, building on top of ChatGPT and... positioning itself as its competitor. Considering that all the big dogs of the Silicon Wallay back ChatGPT, and hundreds of smartest people work to develop that technology at OpenAI, such a positioning by ChatSonic feels pretty scammy to me.
