I would like to understand how or where I can study indicators such as CPI, Pay Roll, PCE, PPI. Are there any books you recommend or articles? And how can this influence my trades such as daytrade and swing trade? Thank you for your attention.
Probably a lot of half measures available, but the "Bible" for fundamentals is "Security Analysis" by Graham & Dodd. Warren Buffett's favorite. You can likely borrow it at your public library. I have a copy in my bookcase. Never read it.
Investopedia is a good place to get basic knowledge IMO. Click on the blue links for explanations of each indicator. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/e/economic_indicator.asp Not useful for daytrading. OK for swingtrading IF you prefer to swing in the direction of the fundamentals. Most useful for investing. Personally prefer technical over fundamental.
To understand the economy you don't have to study those indicators. It is more about linking Geo-economics: https://rpc.cfainstitute.org/en/research/foundation/2021/geo-economics But if you really want to study those indicators look for the words: "Econometrics" + the indicator you are looking for.
Best indicator, how are trucking stocks doing. At some point, everything you eat, wear, play and house you came by trucks. Check out JBHT and UPS, down down down
