and 2011 was the warmest year on record. "Climate change has accelerated in the past decade, the UN weather agency said Friday, releasing data showing that 2001 to 2010 was the warmest decade on record. The 10-year period was also marked by extreme levels of rain or snowfall, leading to significant flooding on all continents, while droughts affected parts of East Africa and North America. "The decade 2001-2010 was the warmest since records began in 1850, with global land and sea surface temperatures estimated at 0.46 degrees Celsius above the long term average of 14.0 degrees Celsius (57.2 degrees Fahrenheit)," said the World Meteorological Organisation. Nine of the 10 years also counted among the 10 warmest on record, it added, noting that "climate change accelerated" during the first decade of the 21st century. The trend continued in 2011, which was the warmest year on record despite La Nina -- a weather pattern which has a cooling effect. The average temperature in 2011 was 0.40 degrees Celsius above the long term average, said the WMO. "This 2011 annual assessment confirms the findings of the previous WMO annual statements that climate change is happening now and is not some distant future threat," said WMO Secretary-General Michel Jarraud. "The world is warming because of human activities and this is resulting in far-reaching and potentially irreversible impacts on our Earth, atmosphere and oceans," he added." http://news.yahoo.com/2001-2010-warmest-decade-record-wmo-164932621.html but wait, maybe this is just another ploy by the UN to take away our rights and make America more like France and besides science can't be trusted because it also says we came from apes and that the earth is round...............freekin commies! Where's my gun?? Oh there you are!!.........shhhhhhh, ok baby, it's alright, Daddy's here.
Never mind all that. Scientists went to college. That means they are liberals Thank goodness this is a minority sample of the American people, FC.
So all these new carbon/emissions taxes, small cars and Solyndra "investments" haven't accomplished jack shit then.

Reducing your daily caloric intake from 8,000 calories to 5,000 didn't cause you to lose weight? Might as well go back up to 8k then. Maybe even 10k, just for good measure.
I'd like to believe you but about half the nation still thinks like 377 and for instance they think there is no scientific consensus when in fact there is, as you know, overwhelming consensus.
Nonsense. There is no consensus among scientists because the data analysis from the AGW church members has been bunk so far. I'm laughing out loud because everytime there is a nice day you folks scream "global warming!" and wet your pants. Ninnies
I picture Gabs as a thin, effeminate, prematurely aged well...faghag sitting in his kitchen hunched over a laptop drinking decaffeinated instant coffee and having had a breakfast of mueslix with nonfat milk and perusing boy porn sites in between posting little snipes on ET where he is only allowed to post in P&R. Regarding weight control, it literally doesn't matter what I eat (though I eat pretty healthy), for me to lose weight I must run or cycle. Its simply arithmetic for me, I must burn more calories than I consume. There is no substitute for rigorous exercise. Walking can work but it has to be *at least* an hour a day and has to be either a brisk pace or up and down hills. My secret weapon is a Lemond Revmaster. Its built so heavily that I can stand up and hammer like I would on my real road bike. I sit for 10-minutes and then get up out of the saddle and hammer for 200 pedal strokes and then sit for 10-minutes and repeat those intervals for about an hour a day in front of the television, usually before dinner. I tend to eat a lot of steamed vegetables and fish (its halibut season!) or chicken. I eat beef perhaps once a week at the most. Not too fond of pork. I avoid bread, pasta and rice. Oatmeal in the morning is acceptable but I prefer some fruit and a little yogurt.
