I wouldn't take a vaccine that's been rushed (ignoring testing procedures) for political purposes in an Election year. Simply, putting politics above the health of the public...very bad. Strong reminder, this has happen before in 1976 Swine Flu Outbreak when Republican President Gerald Ford was running for re-election. He rushed a vaccine for use by millions via putting pressure on the CDC / FDA and he himself took that vaccinated shot. Later they learn there was a problem with the rushed vaccine...a big problem. https://www.discovermagazine.com/health/the-public-health-legacy-of-the-1976-swine-flu-outbreak https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/long-shadow-1976-swine-flu-vaccine-fiasco-180961994/ Republican President Gerald Ford put pressure on the CDC / FDA to rush the vaccine through the approval process via ignoring clinical trials that were designed to ensure the safety of application to the public all while the WHO took a "wait and see" approach. The Swine Flu Program was marred by a series of logistical problems ranging from the production of the wrong vaccine strain to a confrontation over liability protection to a temporal connection of the vaccine and a cluster of deaths among an elderly population in Pittsburgh. The most damning charge against the vaccination program was that the shots were correlated with an increase in the number of patients diagnosed with an obscure neurological disease known as Guillain–Barré syndrome (1). It help give rise to the anti-vaccine groups. Guess what the current Republican President of the United States is trying to do ? By the way, Democrat Jimmy Carter defeated Republican Gerald Ford re-election in 1976. The CDC director lost his job because of the problems caused by that vaccination program of 1976 was a fiasco on the public health...he was fired by the new President after the harm done to the American public. As for myself, I'm not going near any vaccination center and will use a wait n see approach via letting others be the Canary in the Mine. https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/513443-trump-turns-up-pressure-on-fda Is President Trump using the "emergency authorization" of Convalescent Plasma as a prelude to trying to put pressure on the FDA for a vaccine to be deliver prior to the November elections ? I would say YES because of how he's recently been belittling the FDA and accusing them of putting up roadblocks when he stated there's a holdup (log jam) by individuals at the FDA. Yet, he is right about people wanting the right to try any therapeutic in the pipeline even if other medical health experts say its not safe. Unfortunately, those types of people are already on a ventilator or coma and the decision must then be made by family members. In contrast, if you're alert (not terminally ill, not in a coma, not on a ventilator) while sick with Covid-19 in the hospital...most doctors will use an approved therapeutic treatment. Reminds me a little about court battles against terminally ill patients that want the right to suicide. wrbtrader
