Anyone know why they are allowed to post fake priced finra trades

  1. That's right. If you have to ask, you're not paying attention.

Happens a lot. Mostly low volume stuff.

  2. And no, before some of you pseudo experts chime in with , they are block trades, they are late trades, they are ......

That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about tape painting fake trades, that no one could execute at.

More details would be helpful understanding what you refer to.

  4. Like I said, if I need to post an example , you're not paying attention.

I want to hear from someone who knows what I'm talking about already.

  5. They (brokers and predatory hft algos) print them to set off stops.
I fully believe many HFT firms have accounts just for their algos to paint the tape and hunt for weak hands and stop orders.

And I totally agree with your handle, SOES WAS BETTER :D

  6. That's right, on both counts.

Why does the SEC allow this bullshit?

I wouldn't be so bad , if you could actually transact at the fake price, but its nearly impossible .

  7. Here's something today. Not exactly what Im talking about, but YTEN halted and apparently trades 1700 shares at 15 (opening print???) , up from 6, and immediately back down to the 6's.

    Fair markets?

surprised they never broke that trade but the reason they didnt was probably because the powers to be were ok with that execution. 100% guarantee if I was to get that fill on the sell side that trade would vanish!!! But to your topic point I have been saying for years that I can't participate in any prints like that. Either they are internalized or happening inside of some dark pool that I don't have access to. But what really pisses me off is when things print under and over me there should be a law that if there is hidden liquidity in the market of any kind those prints have to go first before being internalized or routed out off exchange.

If you ever wonder why you are getting pinged with 1 lots 2 lots or whatever it is those hft algos hunting where liquidity is so they can print around anybody else participating in the markets. Prime definition of a two tiered market system.

  9. You guys must have missed this. When Al Capone was asked why would he play the ponies but wouldn’t invest a dime on Wall Street.
He said, “It’s a racket. Those stock market guys are crooked.” :sneaky:

So learn how to work around these things or get out of the kitchen!

  10. There's no working around it. You just ignore the reaming.

    That's what you're doing , right?
