Is anyone currently using esignal as their day trading platform? If so what are your thoughts on it? Is it worth it? I am looking between esignal, ninja trader and DAS. I want a platform that works with multiple brokers, has clean charts and fast order entries.

  2. I loved and used eSignal for about 10 years up until about 2 years ago. The reason I stopped was that while the new version 12 had many good and useful features and functions, the guy in charge of building 11(now 12) from scratch left the company, and the following features and functions were not designed for the active trader. The new guys can just not understand that the active trader does not want to be adjusting this and that while concentrating on trading, and he does not want to go through 3 clicks when an action could be done in 2 or even 1 click, and he does not want to have to open 2 menus when a feature could be reached on 1 menu, or directly on a toolbar. And any other situation that could be done in fewer steps.

It's a shame, as it could be the best of all trading software, and they have the expertise to make it such. They just don't seem to know what the active trader wants and needs in order to remain focused on trading to the greatest extent possible.

What a shame. That is what I'm looking for, quick order entries etc...

Evolution of the industry will be enhanced if u pick a different platform. Anything will b better than esignal.

  6. I didn't use eSig to place orders, so I can't say if it's easy to use in that respect.

If they would just review all of their features and functions and ask, "How can we reduce the number of steps the active trader must go through to use this function?", and ask the same question for anything new they develop, they would be on the road to creating trader friendly software. And did I suggest this to them when I was using eSignal? Maybe 50 times!

  7. I use eSignal for charts only.

  8. Like ^ Vikram here, I used it for charts only. I don't use it anymore because I'm doing swing trades as opposed to intraday trades. But I like how clean it is, and how user friendly it is. At least for me.. I guess the look and feel will be different for everyone.

I have been using Esignal for about 10 years now, for charting and studies only. I execute all futures trades through TT. To me Esignal and CQG are by far the best charting software companies out there. TO me it came down to familiarity and easiness of charting/studies, and I also have an outside programmer who does great work to develop programs/indicators/studies for Esignal. Esignal seems much more user friendly, and at the end of the day is much less expensive.
