I have a tendency like many traders to lose discipline and break my own trading rules. I always lose money when I break my trading rules. Also, information is very important. Why doesn`t the exchange show who is the volume behind the trades, is it a HFT trader who is participating or trading or institutional or retail trader or market maker. I don`t see how for futures or high volume that there is that much volume and price is FLAT for hours it seems like the price is controlled or rigged there is no momentum
I recently added a rule that simply says before entering "have you waited yet?" made me 10k on Friday.
Also you can tell whether price discovery is happening by counting the number of times price changes. This happens maybe 20-30% of the year. The rest of the time it's just a grind up.
It's simple, learn to follow your rules or find a new hobby. Most people are not cut out for trading.
it's really very boring,,trading these ino momentum markets. it like it's rigged with this market. price is flate for like hours...traders call this the 'dead zone'
it's a boring hobby. capitalism if you cannot make money doing it, quit ,don't invest your time or money in anything unllss you get rewarded or paid. or a return on investment. or return in capital. as a 'business' its crappy business. actually and small business like at hot dog stand or concert ticket scalper hustlers. same thing in trading stocks or any digits in your screen as traders don't make price. traders are price takers no price makers. you know what I mean.
for most people. trading is a hobby. I work full time 40 hours a week and it's not trading. trading sucks too much of my time and energy. I didn't particapate in the marjauna stock sector scam didn't trade or buy any of the stocks. my rule is don't bother participating in ponzi scam stocks .or anything that is just fraud or scam. don't bother trading penny stocks as 99% of the stocks in some exhanges are scams anyways. i see the the most active stocks in some exchanges and i don't want to buy anyone of them cause all of them are scams. that is what has changed, i used to see the stock 'market's an investment opportunity,,these are not investment more like 'investment scams' with these stocks listed in the exchange.
Hey trader888i, you're not the first one and definitely not the last, who experiences this. I found many times, that a new thing to learn, is always right there, just a moment, before one is about to run out of the energy. Change/re-invent your approach. Start learning different strategies. Longer time-frame ones especially. You can combine that with your current daily job. Just keep on - pushing, and have a higher goals behind , than, just being profitable. Something for someone else who you love, if not for yourself.
