I was in Shenzhen, China about 7 years ago. This city was a fishing village of 25,000 people in around 1985. It was built into a modern city to be a gateway into mainland China when Hong Kong was transferred back to Chinese control. An amazing amount of infrastructure and building in just 30 years. Now the population is about 10 million.
