so, the George Soros quote has come up a couple of times "If you believe government is bad, you will create a bad government." One of the more thoughtful replies was, "Soros is a cocksucker." But very few naysayers ever come up with an idea for creating a "good government." I guess, everybody just believes government is bad. I hear ya, there is a case to be made for anarchy. But if it was Fourth of July, and the band was parading down the street playing "Stars and Stripes Forever", do you have a vision of what a "good government" would be?
Yes, it's called the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights. The same document our Government (and citizens) don't follow or care about. Which is why we have "bad Government"....
CORRECTAMUNDO! The reason we have bad government.... SOCIALISM/COMMUNISM... NANNY STATE... THE "YOU CAN HAVE SOMETHING FOR NOTHING MENTALITY".... all promoted by the Progressives/DemoCraps since T. Roosevelt. And if there was any hope of our recovering, Odumbo and his "anti-constitution Administration" has driven the nails into our coffin. Our nanny state has even F'd-up our education system. Asian countries occupy the top 5 spots in Math, Reading, Science (China #1 in all 3 categories)... America is down around 20-25 in all categories. Any doubt who is going to be the Big Boss soon?
That's the rub. The Progressives always promised to "make America a better place"... but in reality, they've accomplished the opposite. And... THEY DID IT ON PURPOSE...THEY HAVE KNOWN ALL ALONG HOW SOCIALISM ENDS, BUT THEY DID IT ANYWAY... so they could end up with dictator-like control over everything.... just like the former Soviet Union before its collapse. The Founders had it correct. LIMITED Federal government... "The government which governs best governs least"... people responsible for and free to enjoy their own lives.
Why Liberalism Is On The Wrong Side Of History http://townhall.com/columnists/john...lism-is-on-the-wrong-side-of-history-n1756368 Liberals dream of one day seeing all Americans permanently locked in the smothering, cradle-to-grave death grip of the nanny state. Nothing excites a liberal more than the idea of controlling where you go to school, regulating your work and play, deciding what type of health care you're going to have and then deciding when you get to retire and how much money you have when you do. Even if you want to choose, you can't. Even if you want to break free, you're stuck. You're not allowed to make different choices because liberals have made it illegal. What if you're pro-choice on spending your tax dollars on a private school instead of a public school? What if you'd prefer to keep your current health care plan instead of a much more expensive new plan that provides coverage you don't need? What if you'd rather invest your own Social Security money instead of giving it to the government? Sorry, but you don't get a choice. You get the same antiquated 1920s style mentality that prompted Henry Ford to say, "Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black." It's a kinder, gentler version of George Orwell's horrific "boot stamping on a human face - forever." In the liberal version, it's a boot gently pressing you to the ground, forever, "for your own good" -- as if liberals have the slightest idea of what "your own good" might be. Certainly, they believe they know what's best for you. It's what they were told by their college professors, the New York Times and their friends. There's a whole echo chamber dedicated to telling them exactly what they want to hear about how other people should be living. (more at above url)
Ron Paul always said people get the Government they deserve. Americans really did this to this to themselves. You're right. Voters got lazy, stupid and greedy.
The Constitution aint nothing but a legal document written by lawyers to protect rich white land owners. And to hold it up like it was written on stone by God and carried down from the mountain.... Compare the Declaration of Independence to the Constitution, there are some glaring differences and the fact that the Constitution can be amended by mob rule makes it even less sacred for crying out loud, at one time the Constitution even took away my right to drink beer
I don't agree that we (all Americans) got the government we deserve. Some of us did, but others got this shit foisted upon us. I really never started with the people "wanting" or "asking for".... and certainly nobody (Boomers?) ever begged "give me _____, and charge it to my kids/grandkids." It was offered by scumbag politicos... "Vote for me and I'll give you money/benefits" sort of thing. When it first started, it was small and we hardly noticed. But over the years freebie handouts have increased to the point of creating a parasite class... one which actually controls the vote now. And that's why the America that was once a great country is now finished.
