Footprint Charts

Discussion in 'Educational Resources' started by Tylerweitz11, Jun 1, 2023.

  1. I would like to learn more about reading footprint charts and unfinished business. There seems to be very little training available for this online. Does anybody have a training resource they can refer for quality education on this topic?

Mike Valtos has some good educational material and (in my opinion) a pretty good footprint add-on for Ninjatrader. My advice;DON'T BUY ANYTHING from him unless you have watched a few of his videos and what he teaches makes sense to you. Here is his Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/@orderflows

Bear in mind footprint trading is for short-term trading.
Unfinished business? Not very helpful in trading with a footprint chart. (just my opinion)

I purchased the Axia futures footprint course when I first started looking at footprints. It wasn't very helpful in learning at all and was way overpriced.

Maybe: "Mind Over Markets: Power Trading with Market Generated Information" by James F. Dalton, Eric T. Jones, and Robert B. Dalton.

This book is widely recognized as a definitive resource in the field of market profile analysis, including footprint charts

his videos seem repetitive in the sense that the ones i have seen maybe 4 or 5, he's just showing old charts looking at what HAS ALREADY HAPPENED. anyhow, it looks like a nice indicator but something like that should be available for free on trading platforms people shouldn't have to pay for it.

There are free footprint charts available such as "freeprint" https://www.emojitrading.com/freeprint/
I have never used it myself. I understand that Valto's needs to pay his programmers so the cost to me is reasonable. An added benefit is his weekly training sessions for customers. His time is worth something.

As far as his educational material; He is pointing out areas of interest in the orderflow that you should be paying attention to. The fact it has already happened when he points it out is irrelevant.

After thinking about your response a bit more; what are you looking for? You expect free tools from some brokerage? The brokers will NOT offer anything but the bare minimum.
Another thing is I don't understand your complaining about Valto's using a daily historical chart to point out areas of interest in the orderflow. What is he supposed to be doing?
