Dems are why we can't have nice things. Boeing couldn't build the new Air Force One, letting the country down. Qatar and Saudi Arabia, their infrastructure is light years ahead of the US.
You do realize that it will take longer to covert this plane to be Air Force 1 than for Boeing to complete the new Air Force 1 planes in 2027. Additionally the conversion process with secure electronics, security features, validation of the existing electronics, and many other requirements will be very expense -- quite possibly greater than the remaining cost in completing the Boeing plane(s). It is questionable if the plane from Qatar will even be ready -- post conversion -- by the time that Trump leaves office in January 2029.
Trump added 8.4 trillion in new debt his first term(the most ever in one term) increased the deficit from 665 billion to 2.7 trillion in his first term (the most ever in one term) and is about to pass another 5 trillion in tax cuts for the rich...but Dems are the reason we cant have nice things?
If Republicans didn't keep giving trillions and trillions in tax cuts to the rich and military spending The US might be able to afford something like that.
Boeing has a contract to deliver 2 new air force 1 planes ooops are those facts kicking me in the nuts??
I will note that the Boeing planes will be available in 2027. Most of the delays are due to design changes that Trump put into place during his first term -- which additionally led to cost overruns.
Here's a breakdown of the changes related to Air Force One's design under the Biden administration: 1. Reversal of Trump-Era Design: Former President Trump had proposed a red, white, and blue design for the new Air Force One, replacing the iconic blue and white livery. Biden's administration reversed this decision, opting to retain the traditional blue and white color scheme. 2. Reasons for Retaining the Blue and White: Cost and Delays: An Air Force review indicated that Trump's proposed darker colors could increase costs and potentially delay the delivery of the new aircraft. Thermal Concerns: The darker colors, particularly on the underside of the aircraft, could lead to higher temperatures and require additional testing and certification by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Maintaining Tradition: The blue and white color scheme, sometimes referred to as "Jackie Kennedy Blue," has been a staple of Air Force One since the Kennedy administration. 3. Specific Design Details: The new VC-25B will feature a "slightly deeper, more modern tone" of blue compared to the robin's egg blue on the current VC-25A. The engines will also be painted a darker blue. The polished metal section of the aircraft will be eliminated due to modern aircraft skin alloys not allowing for it.
