Another possibility is that we never really recovered from the slowdown in 2009-2010 (positive growth decelerating) - lower right box. Perhaps the last 4 years we have been simply stuck in this area, only delaying the next phase (to the lower left box - contraction:negative growth worsening).
I don't know...will micro processors ever get smaller? Will market makers ever be able to make money on less than 1/16? Will automobiles ever be able to break the 20mi/gal limit? Will time ever move faster? Or will it just seem that way as you get older? Is Goldman admitting that they are just getting older? Oh my! Everything today is moving faster and faster...I should have listened to my grandfather when he told me that is the way it happens.
