Google Finance - Options Chains

Discussion in 'Options' started by OTM-Options, Jun 9, 2015.

  1. Does anyone know why the Google Finance options chains are not working anymore?

During the past few weeks they were not being updated correctly and now they are blank. I'm hoping that they add the option chains to Google Sheets, the way stocks are. Perhaps that is what they are working on.

I wasn't even aware that Google Finance had option chains.

  3. They have had them for a few years. I was hoping they would add them to Google Sheets then you could setup a good paper-trading spreadsheet.

Sadly, Google can't save the world. Too bad Google doesn't do an ECN where you can trade options and options on those equities, to start with. With their computing power and network connectivity already in place, all it would take is their programmers a month to write a matching engine and API. The hard part would be the regulatory hurdles. They should start by buying the Chicago Stock Exchange for next to nothing.

I would gladly make markets for them. All realtime data will be free, and it will be a multicast feed on their Gig network. It would turn the exchanges into prey instead of the predators they are. The exchanges are total thieves when it comes to realtime data.

Alas, aint going to happen. People are already complaining about GOOGs other projects outside their original business model.

Google suck except the search, give you something nice then take it away or bundle it in something hateful to make you use that aswell

merging google maps and Nav on Android phones, over complicated maps, worst of both :(

Its UI will suck aswell, sad really for such a big company :(

Guess this feature has been dropped to.
