I think I need help managing my book. I am thinking of hiring a junior to help with analysis, risk management, and infrastructure building. Someone with technical skills and an understanding of finance or someone good at research with an understanding of finance. I’m still specing this part out. Have any of you as an independent trader had any experience hiring a junior trader/analyst? I can pay a proper wage but not a proper Wall Street wage. how did you go about doing it? what kind of people applied? I’d prefer to have the discussion over PM.
I am good at Googlin' with an understanding of Finance (FV = PV + interests - dividends) but forget about hiring a full office (Analysis + RiskManagement + Infrastructure) for half a junior's wage Well ... most of us (95%) are actually paying for it. That's a nice offer
You won't find any clowns here on this very elite empty ghost town site. You need to make ads on job sites, gig sites, temp sites, marketplace, Craigslist. There are a ton of unemployed people right now. I'm sure some eager person will be happy to please you.

This is a common tactic in persuasion. Positioning as Resource-Constrained but Serious: The author positions themselves as someone who can't pay top dollar but is still offering a “proper wage.” This could be honest budgeting—or a way to attract candidates willing to work for less under the impression of future opportunity. What’s Missing? No mention of: Location or remote work Type of book being managed (equities, options, crypto?) Timeline or urgency Any credentials or background of the poster
FYI, successful hedge funds are always on the hunt for top-talent. And guess what? Unlike you, they’re willing to pay for it, and they definitely do not ask such naïve questions on public forums. As for who might actually apply to your offer? Probably a naïve, brainwashed academic in finance who is blind to what is really important in trading. Best of luck with that.
That's a rather weird comment. He was not asking for top talent he was asking for a junior. He was not asking naive questions, from the few posts by him I read he comes across as an experienced market professional. Is this the modus operandi on this forum, that everyone who asking seemingly reasonable questions or makes reasonable points is shot down by the forever disgruntled and angry and frustrated ones?
