Hi everyone, My IB account is showing a negative net liquidation value right now. Yesterday my excess liquidity was almost at a limit but still positive, and today it is $-52 together with my entire portfolio value being negative. I have a -102% daily return today (Saturday). I assumed this has to be related to the margin but the platform is basically saying my positions are worth nothing (and even negative amounts!). Did this ever happen to you?
Happened to me over 50 times. Why would it matter whether this happened to someone? You don’t have any other concerns?
What was the consequence of this situation in those over 50 times it happened to you? Positions are liquidated on the next trading day? You got a penalty fee of 102% of your account value?
Depends on the reason for the negative/low margin. I was trading a lot of options that can cause this, but my situation may not be related to yours. You provided practically zero information about your situation...
fyi: it looks like all the positions are being marked at 0. I just checked one of my accounts and it also shows all my positions marked at 0. Clearly a mistake
Yes, all my positions are marked at zero. With one of the positions showing a -100% daily return (as if the company disappeared overnight).
Don't worry: Due to scheduled system maintenance, clients may experience problems connecting to our web, mobile and TWS platforms. We are also aware of issues with missing account values. [Mesg Id: 336] 2020/09/26 09:53 2020/09/26 09:55
