    Hello Everyone,
I have been "practicing" with 100 share trades using IB.
I feel I have become proficient enough to up my trades to 500-1000 share trades. Recently I have been getting partial fills (then the price moves away) on a few of my 100 share trades. (All stocks I trade have vol. of at least a Mil. a day.) I immediately cancel the remaining order, then sell or cover the partial shares because it has (at least in my mind) ruined my planned trade. My question is: Do you, who have experience trading in larger share lots, find you get more partial fills than when you traded smaller lot sizes? Do you find this to be a problem ..or do I have nothing to worry about in this regard? Also if you would like..please let me know what you feel is the killer data feed to use in my stock trading. What you feel is the fastest, most accurate, with all indexs, futures, level 2 etc.
Thanks in advance for your help,
    BP

  2. Partial fills suck. That is yet another reason I don't really bother with nasdaq. I doubt you should be getting partials on just 100 shares. If you are, just don't be that stingy in getting filled. I usually put my orders in a place so that im guaranteed of the fill. I'd rather give up an eigth on 2k shares than risk only getting 500 sold and having the stock then back off. I recommend just using nyse so you can enter market orders and close down that screen as soon as it's entered so that you can move to the next trade. Let the specialist figure out where you get filled, cause you know you'll be out at a great price.
