IBKR commissions - API trading

Has anyone successfully negotiated down their IBKR commissions for API trading? A 1% commission for a stock that's trading at $1 or less is a real killer.

 

Is ib commission negotiable?

 

I've heard that some of had luck - but don't know details.

 

The response I had was that you need to be firmly into the 3rd tier each month before they'll consider it.

 

What is the 3rd tier?

 

3million to 20million per month

 

Shouldn't be too hard if OP is trading <1$ stocks.

 

Yeah I’m not sure unless your proper big time that you would get any better
