From a buy and hold pt of view it’s hard to understand how one can make money over the next few yrs . Were 8% higher than Feb’s ath’s and that was after an 11 yr bull mkt . Biden will surely raise corporate taxes at least back to 30% and raise cap gains and higher income individual income taxes . I wonder after mostly horror the last 30 plus yrs if we enter a time short sellers have the upper hand ?

  2. why would biden raise corporate tax thats going to make USA broke because companies will just go offshore thats so stupid

  3. I'm thinking the market goes significantly higher on stimulus, ignoring all else. And yes, we have crossed the Rubicon.

    :(

He’s already said 10 times he wants to reset Corp taxes at least 1/2 back to were they were . We have an incredible budget deficit and we need revenue .

Political buyer's remorse will be a huge theme going forward...

"Under Biden's plan, the corporate tax rate would rise from 21% to 28%. He would also establish a 15% minimum book tax and tax increases on international profits.

The proposed taxes on businesses account for about 51% of the revenue gains from Biden's plan, according to an analysis by the Tax Foundation."

So, what is stopping you from shorting the stockmarket? You should mortgage your house, take out a loan and take a very large short position because the stockmarket should tank and you would be a multi-millionaire overnight? So, why don't you put your money where your mouth is? Come on show us, that you really believe what you are asking us to believe in? Back it up with real cash.

My most consistent and most rewarding trades have been long spreadbets on the Dow, S&P and Nasdaq100 (I'm in the UK) for the years after the GFC. I will not be running shorts on the US indices, no matter how bad they look.

The mkt looks forward ? Was it looking forward in June when it was back near highs ? How far can it look forward ? 1 yr ? 18 months ? If that’s the case why would it ever drop ? It can always look forward as far as need be and say “ in 16 months things will be great let’s run the 200% now and 300% after things good . Always look over the valley to the next peak .
