Bear mkts are not only measured in price but also time and we basically wiped most of the drop out in 4 months . After a 10 yr greatest bull ever we should have stayed down 1-2 yrs to wash incredible excesses out . I was looking at bank stocks like a bac and Jpm . ATH’s like nothing happened in 1 yr . My theory is asset prices never really tank and the punishment is inflation destroys 90% of the population that doesn’t share in price asset inflation . Few notice a Big Mac value meal going from $7 to $8.50 but all notice there stocks dropping .

  2. Cheapest cheeseburger at Mcd I remember paying was 39 cents, driving through Baltimore once when I was a teen. But that was the mid 1990s. What I completely missed out on (because I hardly ever consume any fast food at all) is how combos could appreciate in price from 2 or 3 bucks to almost 10 where it stands now (West coast and including tax). Inflation is alive and well and sadly I must agree with your prognosis. But how it will play out will probably surprise all of us. The 95% will not just drown without a fight.

The irony is that far from washing out excesses, COVID turbo-charged the bull run into its final mania phase.

Actually, almost an identical sequence of events happened in 1997-98: the Asian financial crisis and Russian default led the Fed to put off rate hikes, and actually implement a few panic cuts, which ended up being the rocket fuel for the real blowoff phase of the dot.com bubble.

Remains to be seen when this one will crash under its own weight, but suffice it to say that Yellen-Powell aren't exactly known for being hawks. We might have a ways yet to run.

Bull market will last as long as the story(couse) & sell off(effect).
What's the point for pro boyz to stay in a bull market once the sell off is done.
Covi made a lot of people to be scared, the sell off was a major success. Time to move on.
Just curious about the next catalyzer.
