Learning Spanish & Guitar

Discussion in 'Chit Chat' started by bigarrow, Dec 28, 2013.

  1. Well it's that time of year again where business is slow and need to fill some time with more than BS and beer with friends. Has anyone here used any of the online guitar lessons or advise on Spanish courses. Thanks

YouTube should be good for both. I have used YouTube for cooking ideas and car repair.

  4. I bought I bought Marty Schwartz's guitar courses http://www.guitarjamz.com/members/ and I like them. Been practicing a couple of hours a day. And I bought a Zager acoustical guitar http://www.zagerguitar.com/, very easy on the fingers for a new guy. The Spanish will go on the back shelf until roofing season picks up again. I don't have the concentration or drive to pursue both at the same time and music is a hell of a lot of fun.

You're too old to learn anything new.
You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

    LOL

    Just kidding, brother Big.
    Good luck/have fun!

Best way to learn is to immerse yourself in the culture, but since that isn't feasible get a job in the kitchen of a restaurant washing dishes or scrubbibg pots. You'd be surprised how quickly you can pick up conversational Spanish that way.

If you don't want that, then Rosetta Stone...used it to help me get thru France a few years ago.

  7. Nice to hear an update.

I've seen Marty's stuff on youtube. Looks like a good guy.

In fact, tons of stuff on youtube. Type in a song name and "how to play" and good chance someone has a video on playing it.

Also can type in, like, 'backing track A minor' and get some good stuff to jam to.

For an easy to play guitar , go try an electric guitar with light gauge strings. Fun !

    Rock On !
