Mayor to Walmart: Pay for Your Own Security http://www.foxbusiness.com/industri...lmart-pay-for-your-own-security/?intcmp=hpbt3 Violent incidents at a local Walmart (WMT) in Beech Grove, Indiana have the town’s mayor declaring the store a public nuisance. With more than three police visits a day, the mayor argues Walmart is sapping tight resources for a little town of 14,000 that sits southeast from Indianapolis. But can the mayor blame the store for locals’ dreadful behavior? Is this move a revenue raiser for the town, since the police can slap the local store with $2,500 tickets max? Or is there another storyline here, that Walmart, with nearly a half a trillion dollars in annual revenue, $482 billion, isn’t doing enough to provide security at its local stores, as customers get assaulted, shoppers brawl, and even killings occur? I shop at Walmart if necessary. Most of them look like they could explode into mayhem at any moment lol. The Walmarts in southern california are a real freakshow.
yes, this is my problem with eliminating corporate taxes. When a big store like walmart moves in who pays for all the increased traffic? Stop signs are replaced with traffic lights. Two lanes are now 4 lanes with a left turn lane. They don't just assess these costs to walmart, it comes out of the property taxes we were already paying before they came to town.
out where I live they aint that low and there are more people that want the jobs than there are jobs available. No, for my neighbors, if you can land a job at Walmart you have finally made it. You can walk in any bar and if asked by some chick what you do proudly announce, "I work at Walmart babe. I'm bonafide. Passed a drug test and am a legal citizen."
Walmart with its bargain prices built on cheap foreign labor has enabled millions of people to maintain a middle class lifestyle. Yes at some cost, but it's a big part of the equation.
