http://www.cnbc.com/2016/07/06/mcdonalds-expands-all-day-breakfast-menu.html Not sure what numbers MCD is quoting to justify expanding the all day breakfast, but I'm pretty certain a few articles have pointed to a decline in the popularity of an all day breakfast. The 2-for-2 or 2-for-5 menu is the reason for the major increase in revenue. I'm really questioning if I should invest in MCD now after this nonsensical decision.
Close to where I live there is an MCD that was open 24/7 until an IN-N-OUT Burger opened nearby, now only late nights are Friday and Saturday and only drive through. Before IN-N-OUT rush hour traffic to MCD would clog the entire neighborhood.
The only product I consume there is Ice Scream. Everything else is CRAP. I can't eat without wine. But who's eating CRAP with wine ?! Anyway ... If I could I would manipulate their stock. Don't want my kids to eat Junk foods. Luckily they ain't junkies.
I don't know a single person who likes their breakfast. Everybody I know always waits for 11AM so the burgers, fries become available on the menu. Who goes to Mickey D's at 1AM looking for hash browns or pancakes? So silly. I'm not investing.
The whole fast food industry is trying to one up each other...mcd usually had strict policies on when breakfast ended and lunch began...now its a fuc$ing free for all...have breakfast at 3:27pm all day every day...hot dogs at Burger King and now Buffalo wild wings is trying to serve you lunch in 15 mins or less or its free... I could care less about any of this because I don't waste money on that garbage food....
If they really want to reinvent the wheel, they should go the co-branding route and roll out some creative meal options for the social media generation, like Dunkin Donuts with their Heath Bar/Almond Joy iced coffees: http://news.dunkindonuts.com/news/s...-new-heath-and-almond-joy-iced-coffee-flavors
