Mexico pussied out to buy a month.....I wish Mexico was a little stronger. Hey guess what year the below quote was from? Mexico has deployed almost 15,000 troops to the US-Mexico border, according to the country’s Secretary of Defense Luis Sandoval. yup...2019.... last time trump made threats mexico said it sent 15,000 troops to the border..... and accomplished whats?. This is Mexico's way of fooling trump that something is happening and for trump to declare victory.
Remember trump said: Mr. Trump has insisted that his tariffs would not increase prices for American consumers and that if anyone pays the cost, it will be other countries. I do not think trump is stupid at all, I think he is very smart because he knows whatever he says people will believe. That is the true heart of his intelligence from his days as a tv star, you put out the message you want and the people will believe it. If trump sent rubio to panama and said, talk to them about securing more infrastructure deals with U.S. companies, which is what the State Department economic divisions do, it would have been successful. But it is better for trump to threaten panama out of nowwhere, make up lies and send rubio there and claim he came back with a victory. Because none of you question it...
Canada businesses are looking to relocate to the US to avoid tariffs. Forcing businesses out of Mexico and back to the US is Trump's goal.
We've seen this before, nothing happens. The TV President just wants attention. Today: The troops mean diddly squat, he caved after seeing the market down 2%.
Yup. The phone call is a face-saving claim only. Now he's got the bitter crow to eat after his call with Trudeau. He is an ignorant and weak man. If he would surround himself with better we could possibly live with that, but he doesn't.
I still do some work as a contractor for a couple of machine shops in the Chicago area. Quoting and purchasing. I cannot get a single steel supplier to quote material today. They don't know what will happen. Steel prices are expected to jump big and there will be no more price good for 30 days. 24 hours, just like during Covid. All that will be passed on through the chain It's gonna be a shitshow.
Looks like you're right. Our sales manager has been on the phone in his car for nearly three hours now. I'm guessing our resellers in the US can't pass +25% on to their customers. Edit: lol, yep. A reseller is asking us for our new pricing—they think we're raising our prices!
