When asked if there were any Republican candidates he would get behind, Moore responded, “I would get behind all of them and take them — and push them somewhere.” He added, “[M]y grandfather was the head of the Republican Party in the town that I grew up in. And — yes, but back then, a conservative meant that you conserved your money, you had family values, you had — you conserved the earth, the air, the water, God’s gifts to us. That’s what Republicans believed back then, and those days seem to be gone. I know it’s hard for Republicans who have those feelings, and they have nowhere really to go right now.”

and he got this right about obamacare...

He elaborated on Obama, stating, “I would have wished we had a single-payer healthcare system, not Obamacare, something that would be for everybody.

    and he got this wrong..

he had two years actually, where he had the House and the Senate, and he decided to play nice and get along and he thought the Republicans were going to get along with him and they had no intention of doing that.”

Michael Moore you silly man... Obama had to 2 years of control of Congress and he told the Republicans he won... he wasn't going to play nice he didn't need to. They passed obamacare without single republican vote.

You see, just as establishment Rs screw their base for the cronies talking promising filet but serving shit sandwiches after the election... Obama and the Dems screwed their base for the cronies and served their people shit sandwiches for health care... and more immigrants and lower pay.

Your team is filled with traitors... too.
Do a movie about that... and then you will be a real legacy.

  2. Moore is right in a way. Back in the 1950's and 'early '60's, they were the liberal party. The democrats were dominated by segregationist Southern senators. Their favorite president, Ike, sent federal troops into Arkansas and Mississippi to suppress defiance of federal court orders. Today such a move would likely result in considerable bloodshed. Ike was a dimwitted ex-general who took his marching orders from the party establishment, all northeastern or Midwestern liberals.

Sellouts like Boehner, Graham, Ryan and McCain represent this tradition. They would like nothing better than to go back to the old country club liberal version of the republican party and get rid of the obnoxious Tea Party and family values crowd. Unfortunately for them, they would not win too many elections, so they pay lip service to them, then backstab them in DC.

it sounded to me like Moore's granddad was a true conservative who was a republican as opposed to an eastern elite liberal republican.... but I really don't know... I am projecting what I learned growing up. Where I grew up there were a ton of conservative republicans who although being wealthy spent modestly and loved to preserve nature... but there were also the liberal elite Rockefellers and Bushes there too.

For instance I grew up an environmentalist til the wackobirds took the movement over. I still think its our duty to preserve the environment for the next generations. Conservatives conserve.
