Maybe now we can get the history correct. Just like he and Reid did last time... he threatens to shut down the govt again. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Govern...t-Down-Gov-t-if-Congress-Defunds-Exec-Amnesty White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest is warning that President Barack Obama would veto any spending bill that prohibits federal funds from being spent to enact Obama's executive amnesty. That means Obama is willing to shut down the government to preserve his executive amnesty. When asked if Obama would veto a bill that prohibits federal funds from being spent to enact his executive amnesty, Earnest simply replied: "yes." When asked if that would mean Obama is willing to shut down the government if Congress passes a funding bill that would "tie the president's hands" on executive amnesty, Earnest spun and said, "I actually don’t believe that members of Congress are going to be willing to go along with an effort to shut down the government over the president’s executive action on immigration." Congress must pass a new spending bill by December 11. Earnest was not as clear about Obama's intentions before Obama announced his executive amnesty. On November 20, Earnest was asked, "So you don't rule out the President signing into law something that would undo the very thing he’s going to announce tomorrow night?" He responded then, "Well, I think that seems--I think we'll have to sort of evaluate for ourselves what sort of proposals Republicans put forward, so I wouldn't want to hazard a guess at this point. But it won't surprise you to hear proposals that are floated like that certainly would not be among the kinds of proposals we’d support." House conservatives are reportedly working on legislation that would ensure "no part of any appropriation" could be used to enact Obama's executive amnesty. Last week, the Congressional Research Service sent a letter to Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) reporting that Congress does have the ability to restrict expenditures by an agency.
No, he's warning that he'll "veto any spending bill that prohibits federal funds from being spent to enact [his] executive amnesty." Why do you people do this?
Republicans would just get blamed again by the media if they went that route that we could kiss the presidency goodbye in 2016.
This opinion... but I think most of America was blaming Obama. The establishment Rs snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. and People were starting to see we don't need all that spending and all that govt.
Republicans BETTER COME UP WITH SOMETHING! Even the unpopularity of "shutting down the government". Much more is at stake than Odumbo's unauthorized amnesty... it's more about maintaining the US Constitution's "separation of powers". If Odumbo is allowed to get away with this, the US as a constitutional republic is at great risk.. perhaps even doomed. For the sake of America's future, Odumbo's dick really needs to be knocked into the dirt!
I don't think shutting the government down will be nearly as unpopular as it was last time. Nothing happened, and people really hate the amnesty thing.
However, Repubs are fearful of being blamed for a shut-down*... not that anything material would result.... just like last time. * OMG... THE HORROR! Some parasite's benefit check got delayed a few days.
Agree. And what Boehner is proposing is to pass a bill that fully funds the government for the whole year except for immigration which must be renegotiated in a few months. That leaves Obama as the person shutting down the government if he vetoes the bill. I like it.
If he signs the bill it peels immigration off into its own orbit where it can be fought/de-funded independent of the rest of the federal budget. He has to veto. He will veto.
