Can you imagine if the NFL had a team called the Alabama Niggers? Would you proudly wear those colors? I'm sure there are many who will have a negative opinion of his actions, or non-actions rather. Feel free to share them here. Either way, I say it's growth time in the NFL.
I applaud Phil Simms for taking the stand. It's an obviously racist name for a team. The NFL should have made a name change ages ago.

You are right, Capn, Mass Extinction(ME),for starters, should be a MUCH bigger concern for us all, but who really cares about that? We're probably still at least a couple of generations from the actual shit splattering through the fan... I would have to disagree with a team called the Niggers going 16-0 though. I'd think a team with a name like that would just be asking for a beat down week after week, and I suspect that may be part of what's been ailing Washington's team for the past decade or more. But still I've wondered, why hasn't there been professional sports teams with names like the Brooklyn Jews? Or maybe the New Mexican Wetbacks? I just never quite got why the victims and survivors of the American Holocaust made such popular sports mascots. It's like there were committee boards that sat around back in the day and said, "Let's figure out who got their asses kicked the hardest and name our team after them." But who knows? Maybe the team owners thought they were just paying homage to a great and fallen people. We may actually learn something through all this.
