The video was shot by a team led by David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress posing as representatives of a start up biotech firm in the business of buying fetal body parts for medical and scientific research. Daleiden told Breitbart News, “It as remarkably easy to make contact with Planned Parenthood” to discuss procurement of fetal tissue. The video purports to show, between bites of lunch and sips of wine, Nucatola saying, “A lot of people want intact hearts these days, because they are looking for specific nodes.” She adds: “Yesterday was the first time she said people wanted lungs. And then, like I said, always as many intact livers as possible. People just want…some people want lower extremities, too. I mean that’s easy. I don’t know what they’re doing with it, I guess they want muscle.” In the 8-minute edited video released today by the Center for Medical Progress, Nucatola can be seen and heard discussing her ongoing relationship with another company calledStemExpress that works as a middleman in the buying and selling of fetal tissue, a process that is legal so long as any moneys exchanged are strictly for expenses and not for profit. The video also shows what is purported to be an actual online order form from Stem Express complete with a pull-down menu for “brain, heat, heart (veins and arteries attached), lungs, liver, liver and thymus, spleen, large intestine” and so on. The order form also specifies the “gestational range” from 4 weeks upwards. According to Daleiden, the nearly three-hour video was shot without Nucatola’s knowledge in a California restaurant on July 25 last summer. The full, unedited video of the encounter published by the Center for Medical Progress, can be seen here. In the video Nucatola can be heard saying, “Every provider had patients who want to donate their tissue, and they absolutely want to accommodate them. They just want to do it in a way that is not perceived as ‘this clinic is selling tissue, this clinic is making money off of this.’” She talks about pricing. “You know, I would throw a number out, and I would say it’s probably anywhere from $30 to $100 [per specimen] depending on the facility and what’s involved.” In the video, Nucatola goes into great detail about ordering specific body parts and how the abortionist goes about ensuring those parts are not damaged in the abortion. She says the abortionist uses “ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps.” And then she talks about the baby’s head. “The kind of rate-limiting step is procedure is calvarium. Calvarium — the head — is basically the biggest part. Most of the other stuff can come out intact.” Nucatola says the doctor has to be “just kind of cognizant of where you put your graspers, you try to intentionally go above and below the thorax, so that, you know, we’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m going to basically crush below, and I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.” Nucatola explains how the position of the baby can be changed so that she can be extracted up to the head and then collapse the head so that all the other body parts can be extracted without damage. Nucatola explains how to get around the federal ban on partial birth abortion. “The Federal [Partial Birth] Abortion Ban is a law, and laws are up to interpretation. So, if I say on day one, I do not intend to do this, what ultimately happens doesn’t matter.” Partial birth abortions are now a felony and punishable by up to 2 years in prison and a fine upwards of $250,000. Nucatola talks about how the order for parts can change the way the abortions are done, “For example, so I had 8 cases yesterday. And I knew exactly what we needed, and I kinda looked at the list and said okay, this 17-weeker has 8 lams, and this one — so I knew which were the cases that were more probably likely to yield what we needed, and I made my decisions according to that, too, so its worth having a huddle at the beginning of the day and that’s what I do.” Nucatola explains that in order to limit liability Planned Parenthood’s “litigation and law department…really doesn’t want us to be the middle people for this issue right now. Because, actually we were approached by StemExpress to do the same thing” but “it’s too touchy an issue for us to be an official middleman.” The video ends with the investigator approaching what the video claims is Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards at Planned Parenthood’s national meeting in Washington DC last year. He identifies himself as doing “fetal tissue collection” and says, “Dr. Nucatola has been very helpful this past year.” Richards says, “Okay, great. Thank you. She’s amazing.” Breitbart News called Planned Parenthood several times for a comment, as well as Stem Express. Neither returned calls. Nucatola’s Twitter feed was taken down this morning. And at least for a while Planned Parenthood’s media phone number was “out of service.” According to the US Criminal Code, the buying or selling human body parts is a federal felony. The commercial traffic of body parts from an aborted baby is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $500,000. Daleiden promises more revelations in the days to come. He is no stranger to undercover investigations of Planned Parenthood. En español Human Cell Strains in Vaccine Development Vaccines Developed Using Human Cell Strains snip The first vaccine created with the use of human cell strains was the rubella vaccine developed by Stanley Plotkin at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia. In 1941, Australian ophthalmologist Norman Gregg first realized that congenital cataracts in babies were the result of their mothers being infected with rubella during pregnancy. Along with cataracts, it was eventually determined that congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) could also cause deafness, heart disease, encephalitis, mental retardation, and pneumonia, among many other conditions. At the height of a rubella epidemic that began in Europe and spread to the United States in the mid-1960s, Plotkin calculated that 1% of all births at Philadelphia General Hospital were affected by congenital rubella syndrome. In some cases, women who were infected with rubella while pregnant terminated their pregnancies due to the serious risks from CRS. Following one such abortion, the fetus was sent to Plotkin at the laboratory he had devoted to rubella research. Testing the kidney of the fetus, Plotkin found and isolated the rubella virus. Separately, Leonard Hayflick (also working at the Wistar Institute at that time) developed a cell strain using lung cells from an aborted fetus. Many viruses, including rubella, grew well in the resulting cell strain, and it proved to be free of contaminants. The strain was eventually called WI-38. Plotkin grew the rubella virus he had isolated in WI-38 cells kept at 86°F (30°C), so that it eventually grew very poorly at normal body temperature. (He chose the low temperature approach following previous experiences with attenuating poliovirus.) After the virus had been grown through the cells 25 times at the lower temperature, it was no longer able to replicate enough to cause illness in a living person, but was still able to provoke a protective immune response. This rubella vaccine is still used in the United States today as part of the combined MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine. Ethical Issues with Human Cell Cultures Although it has now been used in the United States for more than 30 years, Plotkin’s rubella vaccine was initially ignored in the U.S. in favor of vaccines developed using duck embryo cells and dog kidney cells. In the late 1960s, there was concern in the country that a vaccine developed using a human cell line could be contaminated with other pathogens, though this concern did not seem to have any documented evidence behind it. This is somewhat interesting in light of the discovery earlier in the decade that polio vaccines developed using animal cells were contaminated with a simian virus, which was one of the reasons researchers began using human cell lines in the first place. Plotkin’s vaccine was first licensed in Europe in 1970 and was widely used there with a strong safety profile and high efficacy. In light of that data, and of larger side effect profiles with the other two rubella vaccines, it was licensed in the United States in 1979 and replaced the rubella vaccine component that had been previously been used for Merck’s MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) combination vaccine. Plotkin’s vaccine has been used in the country ever since. In 2005 the CDC declared rubella eliminated from the United States, though the threat from imported cases remains. Groups that object to abortion have raised ethical questions about Plotkin’s rubella vaccine (and other vaccines developed with similar human cell strains) over the years. Because of its position on abortion, members of the Catholic Church have asked for its moral guidance on the use of vaccines developed using cell lines started with fetal cells. This includes the vaccine against rubella as well as those against chickenpox and hepatitis A, and some of the rabies and mumps vaccines. The official position according to the National Catholic Bioethics Center is that individuals should, when possible, use vaccines not developed with the use of these cell strains. However, in the case where the only vaccine available against a particular disease was developed using this approach, the NCBC notes: One is morally free to use the vaccine regardless of its historical association with abortion. The reason is that the risk to public health, if one chooses not to vaccinate, outweighs the legitimate concern about the origins of the vaccine. This is especially important for parents, who have a moral obligation to protect the life and health of their children and those around them. The NCBC does note that Catholics should encourage pharmaceutical companies to develop future vaccines without the use of these cell strains. To address concerns about fetal cells remaining as actual ingredients of the vaccines, however, they specifically note that fetal cells were used only to begin the cell strains that were used in the preparation of the vaccine virus: Descendant cells are the medium in which these vaccines are prepared. The cell lines under consideration were begun using cells taken from one or more fetuses aborted almost 40 years ago. Since that time the cell lines have grown independently. It is important to note that descendant cells are not the cells of the aborted child. They never, themselves, formed a part of the victim's body. In total only two fetuses, both obtained from abortions done by maternal choice, have given rise to cell strains used in vaccine development. Neither abortion was performed for the purpose of vaccine development. Current Vaccines Developed Using Human Cell Strains Two main human cell strains have been used to develop currently available vaccines, in each case with the original fetal cells in question obtained in the 1960s. The WI-38 cell strain was developed in 1961 in the United States, and the MRC-5 cell strain (also started with fetal lung cells) was developed in 1965 in the United Kingdom. No new or additional fetal cells are required in order to sustain the two cell strains. The vaccines below were developed using either the WI-38 or the MRC-5 cell strains. The medical field draws introvert personalities. Introverts care about their space and their things and tend to keep up appearances and care not much about other people... I'm still trying to fathom introverts actually but in the meantime I'm staying the f%^k away from them. No doctors, no lawyers, no judges, none of that s%^t, those professions are largely populated with introverts and they can NEVER BE WRONG... they just are not wrong no matter what evidence exists to the contrary... they wrongly convict somebody? They can't reverse it, they just can't. I go to a doctor and tell him that I cured my problem which he has no cure for with a supplement? He just can't accept it, and in fact he has to insult me. You can marry an introvert if you want, go for it. The k^&t won't share the space with you eventually! She will have control of every square inch of the space with no regard for you.
