The world is on the edge of a precipice. Russia invades Ukraine, China actively threatens to invade Taiwan, fringe parties across the world stoking violence on open internet platforms... It is said wars are cyclical. It takes a generation to fight, the next to abhor fighting and appreciate peace, the third to voice frustrations and the fourth to fight again. Clearly, we are in phase 3. The idea of Europe came out of 2 world wars. It was understood that interconnection through trade and social mixing would remove all incentives to kill one another. European achievements today are remarkable and yet... The UK exited, nationalist parties are gaining strength, separatists are calling for their exceptionalism. Yugoslavia is dead. America is no exception. https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/10/29/political-violence-1850s-paul-pelosi-00064107
Where did you read that concept about the stages of war that society goes through? Refer us to a book or an article. Thank you.
https://netwar.wordpress.com/2007/08/26/cyclical-warfare/ A quick Google search will give you plenty of research on the cyclicality of war. Not everyone buys it, but it's a pertinent suggestion.
Google search I can do. I was wondering if you've come across the originator of those conclusions, maybe a book or a research paper, something that would require more effort to find as a particular piece of information . Nevertheless, thank you.
