Terrorism is not an ideology, it is a tactic of the weak against powerful enemy who is in chains of his own morality, and it works... that's why... The only way to defeat terrorism is to respond to terrorism with terrorism... that's when all asymmetry stops immediately and terrorism in the hands of the weak becomes useless. But western society, which is build on a valuing human live, can not do that...
The cycle of violence is a big problem for humanity. Indian tribes in jungles are always tiny even though the natural resources might support millions of people. It's because they have a continual cycle of violence with other tribes. Almost all of them die at the hands of other tribes! Gangs in inner cities do the same. It was same with the Amerinds when whitey arrived. What is really, really amazingly stupid is that the Moslems with their own writing and scholarship and major religion have managed to bring it with them into the third millennium! They have been killing each other since the eighth century. It sort of makes up for the fact that they never should have existed in the first place. They are descended from Abraham's wife's handmaiden in a mistaken attempt to fulfill what God said would happen so in a sense, all those middle eastern arabs shouldn't be here and they act like it.
