Those sound like sponsored Bowl Games that were once popular, of course with playoffs now they are meaningless. I still remember when the Bowl Games had no sponsors once and then came the Minute Maid Orange Bowl, Frito Lay Fiesta Bowl, etc. I remember on January 1st there would be like 4-6 bowl games and they were usually pretty good like the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, etc. This was from the 1950s to the mid 1990s. The NCAA decided that they wanted an undisputed number 1 vs maintaining tradition. Bad decision in my opinion. I preferred the days where different newspaper polls had different rankings.
