Watching the last 10 days of the GOP primary has been an exercise in dismay. The republican establishment has now openly announced that they would rather see Hillary Clinton elected than Donald Trump: https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...b16010-de3a-11e5-8d98-4b3d9215ade1_story.html “It’s scary,” South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who has endorsed Rubio, said on ABC’s “This Week.” She added: “I think what he’ll do to the Republican Party is really make us question who we are and what we’re about. And that’s something we don’t want to see happen.” ------------------------------------------------ They would rather see a democrat win than lose control. They would rather see the borders left wide open and allow non-citizens to vote democrat than see a republican close the borders. I see virtually no difference between establishment democrats and establishment republicans at this point. They are cut from the same cloth.
The good news is that the potential VP pool is narrowing by the day. I was afraid he might pick Nikki Haley, but that seems highly remote now.
The first thing you should try to recognize is this- the repubs have all made a silent vow to promote Hillary- IOW, you won't hear them mentioning "Bernie" in any way shape or form. Why is this? Well, because quite frankly, the repubs are scared shitless that Bernie Sanders will become the democratic nominee, thereby making the republicans' job much more difficult this fall. You see, they [the repubs] have all taken a silent vow to not mention "Bernie", and they have all factually only blurted "Hillary" from their lips when discussing the democratic battleground. Why only Hillary, you ask? Well, if you'd just turn that brilliant little brain of yours up to full speed, and think about it for moment- you probably have already realized how EXTREMELY weak Hillary is as a democratic presidential candidate. And, beyond that- when reality TV loving America wakes up from the spell that King Lib Trump as cast over them, they will soon realize that the Donald is likely the most problematic character to have arisen in leadership history since Adolf Hitler. Why is he like Hitler, you're probably wondering? Well, for one just think about the way he keeps repeating over and over that He [Donald Trump] is personally "rebuilding the republican party". Does this not at all seem similar to the way Adolf Hitler constantly touted that He [Adolf Hitler]"re-built" the German Workers Party into the Nazi regime? http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/01/...cial-report-2-days-fox-news-google-gop-debate Or maybe it's also the way he keeps repeating over and over how anyone who isn't filthy sinking rich is pretty much a dumb ass in his book. For instance, while speaking to Des Moines Register about his plans to eradicate ISIS, when asked "Do you have advisers on issues like this?" Trump's reply : "With very successful people, we sort of have our own ideas. A lot of people hire consultants. Well, if the consultant’s so smart, why aren’t they rich?" It doesn't take a rocket scientist either to figure out either that Trump's clear basis for an individual's worthiness or intrinsic value is determined by how much money they are able to make- "I’m the most successful person ever to run for the presidency, by far. Nobody’s ever been more successful than me. I’m the most successful person ever to run. Ross Perot isn’t successful like me. Romney — I have a Gucci store that’s worth more than Romney." When arguing with Gov' Kasich from Ohio apparently his only real stance against him is this: “I’ve built an unbelievable company worth billions and billions,” he said. “I don’t have to hear from this man.” But then again, the the poor dumb German's were just so enthralled by his sense of strength and power, they never realized until too late what electing Hitler would truly mean for their economy and their country...
Why on earth would Republicans (or anyone else, for that matter) worry about an event that has less than "ZERO" chance of happening?
Republican initiatives and policies are directly responsible for the redistribution of wealth from the middle-class upward to the wealthy; thus causing a dramatically skewed wealth distribution that is damaging the U.S. economy and in the long run is very bad for the wealthy themselves. But there are not enough wealthy to elect anyone. Therefore the Republican party has had to take under its wing all manner desparate political groups that are Incompatible with each other . The party is coming apart at the seams. Trump is very likely to prove disastrous not only for the country but for the party itself. That's why we see so many establishment Republicans trying to derail him. Oddly, Trump is the candidate of the misfits, the lower middle class, the misanthropes, and those barely making it. Those who control most of the capital in the country can't stand him. This election may turn out to be a test of whether the old money really is in control or whether it is all an illusion .
That sounds like wishful thinking to me. I give him a 30-40% shot, or about what the polls are saying.
One might wonder why the old money did not run one of their own candidates . Well in fact they did. They put Jeb in the race. They had intended for Jeb to run all along, and had always recognized that Jeb's older brother was not presidential material. Unfortunately the "W" wanted to prove them all wrong. Of course, they weren't wrong. And we know what happened.
It is as amazing to me as it is to you. People (unspecified rich dumb white guys) actually thought the country would be able to get past the name Bush. Unbelievable. I like Jeb! but I would chew my own arm off before I would pull the lever for a member of the Bush dynasty. I'm equally puzzled that the dems would run Hillary. I'm not sure there is a woman in the entire country more hated than Hillary except maybe Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. They couldn't find a younger Senator with a vagina who is actually accomplished and who exhibits leadership and respect for the law? I have this uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. I think we are all screwed somehow. I wish we could get someone like Norman Schwarzkopf to run. Not a joke, we need someone tough and competent and centrist to pull this mess of a country together. A contemporary Eisenhower.
The mood in the country is running against the idea of dynasties in the White House. This is going to hurt Hillary just as it hurt Jeb. And Jeb was doubly damaged because of his Brother's legacy. I don't hate Hillary myself. I do know people, people who would ordinarily vote on the Democrat side, that strongly dislike her. I think she is competent, however I don't want her to be my President. I wouldn't chew my arm off before I'd vote for her, but I might bite my nails to the quick.
Rumours floating around that Cruz offered to drop out and support Rubio for a Supreme Court justice appointment. Rnc donor class looking to support mitt in an Independant third party run to scuttle trump. This would create an establishment dem rep coalition.
