    Restarting tourism

Europe's attempt to restart tourism will need to be accompanied by interoperable contact-tracing apps, the European Commission has said. Each EU country is building its own contact-tracing app, and there are two diverging approaches being taken—which would hamper the functionality of these essential coronavirus-warning systems when users cross borders for a holiday. Here in Orlando they are getting ready to open the theme parks back up and mandating that everyone wears a mask that enters. The parks are keeping capacity at their restaurants capped at 25% for the time being. The Florida Dept. of Health said they inspected the parks and realized just how easy viruses and germs can spread due to the many surfaces that people actually touch simultaneously such as handrails for creeping forward slowly in long lines for rides. It's going to be interesting to see how it all unfolds, that's for sure.

Expecting August holiday Spain to be cancelled and 50/50 on Tenerife for my 50th, mid December.

No way can I take 14days quarantine on the home ( unless it's a just stay home, then I'll ignore it as millions already had in the UK and pointless )

Guess big question is anyone wanting to go? Can’t see myself saving up some cash for a family trip and going through the social distancing headache at a theme park.

Did see article yesterday where carnivals cruise lines reported 600% increase in bookings for August. Never did cruise but guess mostly young people taking deals at 28$ a night.

I just see more people going to be crying about being stuck on a cruise ship and looking for help.

GF's booked up cruises for next year, she got off a cruise ship and got C19 on a cruise ship about 1 week before the ships started getting turned away, they love there cruises strangely.

I'll go on a cruise ship holiday, right after I start playing golf personally, NEVER!!!

I am fascinated by the State of Maine. The State, as I recall, has one of the lowest COVID infection rates in the US. The largest private employer in the State is the hospitality business. The Summer season makes or breaks the State economy. And the Governor has recently said that bars will be closed until some time in July - which was an extension.

It’s a fair argument to say that some State and Local officials have been “moving the goalposts”. In March, the mantra was “flatten the curve”. Now some are talking about shelter in place until a cure is in place.
