If there is no confirmed intolerance or allergy, it’s not worth avoiding the product. Balance is the foundation of good health.
I avoid cow's milk, not because I’m lactose intolerant, but because as a kid and teen (when my whole family stopped drinking it) I often got sinus headaches and a runny nose. It seemed to act as a mild but real irritant to my immune system. For context: "Lactose intolerance is a digestive issue, your body lacks the enzyme to break down milk sugar, leading to bloating, cramps, and diarrhea. IgE-mediated allergy is a classic, fast-onset immune reaction, hives, swelling, wheezing, that can be severe or even life-threatening. Non-IgE-mediated allergy or dairy sensitivity is slower and often affects the skin, sinuses, or digestion in a subtler way. It can cause congestion, headaches, or fatigue without obvious stomach symptoms. Non-allergic rhinitis triggered by dairy is another possibility, where dairy provokes inflammation in the nasal passages without involving the immune allergy pathways " My symptoms seem to fit the non-IgE or rhinitis category...mild, delayed, but consistent enough that avoiding milk makes a difference. Cheese is fine, yoghurt too but I don't know if these being denatured or just the small quantity is the factor. As a kid I used to drink a couple of glasses of milk a day.
