Is there anywhere to find a list of tickers that performed well during the GFC? It can be stocks, etfs, basically anything that is listed. I am curious to know if any ticker returned 500%+ in 2008-09.
OK, I'll try. Gold, up 24%. Huge push, end of year 2008 into spring 2009. that's when the "mark-to-market" problems (the core of the crash) became evident. This isn't rocket science, ya know.
So I started looking at AutoZone... P/E ratio 21 Assets 16.72b Liabilities 21.55b Operating income 962m People are paying 20x earnings for a company that is several years of income in the red. So who they hell is paying that? Vanguard, Black Rock, JP Morgan. All those guys managing you 401k. Ugh. Valuations have gone crazy. This thing could go to zero at any moment.
