Pitiful to see the coalition ignore Kobane. This town is just over the Turkish border with Syria and has been under siege from Isl now for days. Turkish tanks are ranged neatly in rows within sight of the town. One word from Edowan and Isl could be squashed in a day like the evil snake it is. But no they wait while the outnumbered defenders carry on the battle, knowing any survivors will get no mercy.

The US is in a life or death struggle with Isl but as usual does the wrong tactics. A great chance to defeat Isl's premier fighters. Odumbo callously looks on when there should be special forces moved in overnight and no prisoners taken.

Shameful cowardice or what ? The world watches !!

When so few in the government have ever served -- actively -- in the military, what can you expect?

  3. The Turkish government supports ISIS. Their PM is an avowed islamist who has turned Turkey from a secular state into another radical islamist troublemaker. They should be kicked out of NATO and told they will never get into the EU.

Do you ever bother to vet any of the sources you use to "inform" yourself?

Actually it has been in all the mainsteam press. Turkey does not want to help the Kurds fight ISIS across the border because they are fearful about the rise of a Kurdish state. Many news sources believe that Turkey has not only refused to strike ISIS but are secretly supporting them against the Kurds inside Syria & Iraq.

Here is a link from your favorite Huff Post on this subject.

Which is not the same thing as saying that "the Turkish government supports ISIS" or that "their PM is an avowed islamist who has turned Turkey from a secular state into another radical islamist troublemaker."

If one begins with a paranoid conspiratorial mindset, then sure. But looking at things objectively yields a somewhat different result.

Incidentally, I woudn't say HuffPost is my "favorite". But it's a good aggregator and it's fast. And the quality is certainly superior to Doughey's "examiner.com".

  8. DB, I think you have proved yourself well qualified to work in the Obama State Department. Clueless but drunk on imagined moral superiority.
