Nothing pisses me off more than standing in line watching someone buying smokes or booze with cash and then breaking out the EBT card for food. Or should I say (food?).

From the USDA guidelines, you can purchase the following items using your EBT card.

    Soft drinks
    Candy
    Cookies
    Snack crackers

Can you buy coffee with food stamps?
You can buy coffee including instant coffee and iced coffee. The only kind of coffee you can't buy using your EBT card is hot coffee. EBT SNAP benefits do not allow the purchase of hot liquids.

.... and don't forget ice cream.... you can buy it too.

Fuckin disgusting. WTF..... WHERE IS CONGRESS!!??

RedBull .... ? Go for it.

    FDA: Energy Drinks

When considering the eligibility of energy drinks, and other branded products, the primary determinant is the type of product label chosen by the manufacturer to conform to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines:

Energy drinks that have a nutrition facts label are eligible foods

    Goes good with crack.

Where is Congress? On their knees paying homage to the sugar lobby.

    Yep.

This system has been broke through both Dem and Rep Administrations. Its fucking ridiculous. People are buying their "groceries" at corner bodegas that sell shit food for rip-off prices. How friggin hard would it be to revamp this system to deliver basic foodstuffs to the door? Or at least have bi-weeekly local distributions. They could revamp the USPS and actually make it pay for itself in savings realized from reigning in this scam . Or use Amazon for god sake. Something. The fact that people can buy candy and red-bull and chips and feed it to their kids on my dime is f'ing disgusting......

And our legislators are so clueless and bubbled, they probably don't even know this is the case. Stupid.

You're quite right. Have you ever read about the so-called "food desert" phenomena?
