  1. Thank you Obama. And no thanks to the obstructionist backwards moronic Republican congress who can eat shit and die.

    • The median household’s income last year was $56,500, a significant increase from the previous year, the Census Bureau said.
    • The income gains, of 5.2 percent, are an important turning point in the recovery from the 2008 recession.

How much of the 5.2% can be attributed to the earnings increase of the top 1%? Haven't you noticed still a lot of people, the so-called "deplorables", are left behind by the economy?

  3. Yes I have. And nearly all the policies from the right not only do not address the problem but actually make it worse. Minimum wage, anti-union, anti-aide to the poor and tax policy of the right all do nothing to rectify the problem. No surprise there, the GOP is about the wealthy and the corporations over the regular guy.

And the Democrats are not? The biggest companies in the USA are all against Trump and pro Hillary, in case you hadn't noticed.

You are giving him credit for it. Please give me a list of what Obama specifically did that caused it.

  6. They are against Trump because they know he is an idiot. But yes the right is all about the wealthy and corporations and to hell with the little guy and those regulations that protect the public but hurt their profits. This is obvious to anything with a pulse. Unions, minimum wage and aid to poor are not on their to-do list.

Obama only has a few more months left in office. Of course economic indicators are going to start looking more promising.

A relevant question, but the figure reported is for median household income, so this is almost certainly a general improvement.

And buried deep in the news is this......

Still, the nation hasn't fully healed.
Income remains 1.6% lower than it was in 2000, when it hit $57,790, and 2.4% below the 1999 peak at $57,909. Median earnings for men working full-time are still lower than they were in the 1970s, Danziger said.
